The tan that seemed to be eternally on JFK is the result of the Addison's disease. The hormone ACTH stimulates the pigment producing cells in the skin and that's what would give someone with Addison's to Gee's darker skin. You really do need a hormone if you, like, glu cordicoids, if you were going to be physically activated in a moment of crisis.
