I'm your host, Dr. Grace Hatton and this week I'm joined by Nick Blair, the CEO and co-founder of Midnight Health. Midnight Health is a digital healthcare platform based in Australia that has a customer base of more than 30,000 users since its launch in early 2021. Offering a range of healthcare services from video consultations through to home delivery prescription medicines, its mission is to enhance patient outcome through technology by consolidating the fragmented health industry, simplifying experiences and improving accessibility. Midnight Health has a current valuation of $48 million as of August 2022, having taken on a 12 million series A investment from Health Insurance. Nick is a serial entrepreneur who has built and made several successful exits from a number of businesses outside of the healthcare space and in 2019 when the Australian Young Entrepreneur marketing. In this episode we talk about single-handedly trying to revolutionise the digital healthcare space, learning from past business building experience and the future of telemedicine. Let's get started. So Nick, you were a co-founder of Bruce Media and pivoted into healthcare with Midnight Health. What's the story behind that?

So yeah, around the same time, I guess a year before I started, Bruce Media, I also started a digital agency called Search Factory as well. So both marketing-focused businesses, I guess one focused on mobile marketing and the other focused more on other areas of digital marketing. So yeah, I guess I've always had a bit of an entrepreneurial spirit come from a startup background as opposed to a healthcare background. But as I've been through, you know, I've always had an interest in startups and tech businesses. And as I came to the exit acquisition of Search Factory, one of my startup that I was in before I launched Midnight Health, I guess I was looking at a number of different industries in terms of where there were big opportunities to have a big impact. I was looking to do something bigger and better, you know, that I'd done in the past, I guess by nature and curiosity who I am, I suppose. And so, you know, continue circling back to the healthcare industry and looking at, I guess, traction that digital healthcare businesses were getting in the international markets. But also, the healthcare industry is one of the last to actually go through, you know, kind of technology adoption and improvement of the consumer experience. And, you know, as most of us know, it's kind of lagged behind many of the other industries in our lives. And so, as I was going through a couple of years of ending there, I ran out of my last business. I was like, this is the space that I want to be in. And this is where I think I can do something great and have a big impact. And yeah, that's what's coming up. Sit me down that path.
