There's a lot of kind of underlying assumptions in these ways that people try to help get at them. So my work uses something often called propens scores. And so what that basically means, it's in the kind of observational setting where we don't have a randomization to an exposure to some treatment. You try to kind of construct what we call a counter factual framework,. All i know is that you got, for example, if i'm looking at diabedes drugs and heart disease, all i know are that you received diabedes drug x., but I could also do sensitivity anal to see how bad things would be if they were missing an important variaba.
