The Power of Visualization in Resuscitation

When I am coming into a trauma it's very typical for me to go through how I imagine in as vivid a detail as appropriate all the pieces that are there where I'm going to stand. There's this emerging idea of the idea of mirror neurons which are neurons that can develop and acquire the pattern behavior without ever actually physically performing the task they're mirroring. That they can develop sophistication of motor learning or performance just by going through the visualization process rather than actually having to carry out the act. And so it speaks to the power of a visualization that gets into a rich enough detail of what it needs to take place that we can actually teach and encode in our brain.
