The Importance of Treating Customers Like Customers
The effect of a bad experience when unsubscribing from a system can have tremendous consequences for your business. So it is incredibly important that even if people turn, you treat them like customers still. You do not want to be the thing that people tell each other to avoid. People just don't talk to you because it's a possibility. They have a reason when they reach out. And so in all your customer service interactions, in all your onboarding interactions, treat people as people, as peers, as people you want to help and empower.
