The Importance of Sponsorship in a Triathlon

I was like, well, why don't I put something in line and say, like, if you beat me, then you get all the money. And that's how people started to pay $10,000 for first place. The next year, we started to get more like my private sponsors and all the local businesses involved. So it just shows how, you know what it takes for other athletes to actually come up with this kind of money. But there still wasn't a good international field which came from New Zealand.
