The faster you can run a 5k and 10k, the faster you can ultimately run a half marathon or a marathon. "If you're not working the full end of the range, then you're sub optimizing the event that you're only doing," coach says. If someone's a half marathoner, it would be great for you to mix in 5K and 10k training because that looks different than a half marathon training block.
