CNN's John Sutter says standing is better than sitting in most cases, but you must break up either sedentary standing or especially sedentary sitting with movement. A recent study found the average blood glucose was higher during a seven hour period of uninterrupted sitting compared to during sitting interrupted with physical activity every 30 minutes. "Standing doesn't actually make that big of an impact in terms of burning extra fat," he said.
