The Role of Light in Gut Health
Every cell in a bar body has a clock built into it. And so the gut is no different. The gut is really tied to a circadian rhythm and its function is tied to the clock in our brain. So basically light enters my eyes, my brain perceives that as a time of day. It oscillates in certain ways to tell time to every cell in my body. Our exposure to so much artificial light at night really then limits our gut's ability to regenerate itself and to heal.
