Games like Fantasmagoria and Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective sold not on their own merits but as tech demonstrations, right? And people would buy them and be satisfied that their expensive technology had some utility. It's like they didn't really become consumers of other games like this. They just kind of went on to other forms of entertainment having been satisfied justifying their computer approaches. So you have this abstract idea of an interactive movie and even today, it sounds pretty cool.
