I think most people don't feel comfortable with not knowing and they want to feel like they have something that they're bringing to the table. Your job as a marketer is to realize that you don't know anything, but to go find out the real answer. I try to let the data do the talking. It's very hard to argue with customers telling you what they think and what they feel and what they want. And one of the best pieces of advice that I ever got in terms of marketing was someone told me you are not the customer.
