The Importance of Touch in Pain Relief

There is something special about the sense of touch. I'm very surprised that there hasn't been more research into how to use it, especially for pain relief. A lot of times when people are feeling lonely or when they're feeling anxious, there's often a desire to pull back and social engagement feels too hard. We get a boost in happiness from social engagement - even just saying hello to a neighbor as you walk by their yard.
