The Benefits of Sleep Deprivation for Ultra Marathoners
Dr. Miye who studies ultra marathon runners and one of the things he did too recently is that in the week a week or so before an ultra marathon Forced essentially had athletes stay in bed to stay in for nine hours versus their usual I think they were usually somewhere a little bit less maybe seven and a half or so That extra bit of difference Made a significant difference in in a significant improvement in their ultimate performance then in an ultra marathon that went overnight. So yes, you know, maybe you can still get up and do a you know a 20k run and be okay for a short period of time on sleep deprivation But you'll probably extremely grumpy. You probably won't function at work
