The History of Vascular Elastin Syndrome
Elastin syndrome was documented in like 1910s. The first paper describing the condition was from 1960 and it's mostly based on just a physician looking at the patient because we didn't really even have an understanding of the underlying cellular mechanisms, what was happening to these patients. There was some discussion about whether or not being collagen but it wasn't really proven until the 1970s. So one of the complications when trying to research this is a lot of people describe it differently.
