Intermittent fasting is a very broad term because if you go back to the old literature on nutrition, it boils down to quality quantity and timing of food. So that's how we describe time-restricted eating which at least in animal models does not involve reducing calorie on any given day but somehow people thought that okay so since we are going, the animals and humans are fasting for or not eating for 14 hours to 16 hours, let's call it also intermittent fasting.
