I feel like I'd lost myself when we lived abroad. Anyone who's lived abroad knows you do this thing of you have to change yourself to fit in. And then I came back and I just remember feeling like a big sigh of relief in my whole body at being home. It just felt like I belong here. But it never occurred to me that selling art could be anything that made money. My upbringing was very much, you know, you don't make money from art. You just didn't think about art as a career. So even when I got back into loving it, I was seeing it as a hobby on the side. That makes sense to me because that's what happened
