People with social anxiety might not feel socially anxious in certain contexts. They're quite selective about it sometimes. So our values are essential in shaping our emotional response. And some of those values are misplaced, like the things that we place so much value on. We don't value wisdom enough in our culture and self-improvement is often a wash.
