When our body feels safe, we're able to breathe down into our lower belly and in even our pelvic floor sometimes like the breath goes all the way down. And when it accesses these, these parasympathetic neurons, there is this felt sense of safety which is usually associated with a sigh response. The breathing practices are just like a ways of consciously activating that mechanism.
