CHAPTER

The Science of Blood Flow Restriction

We measure the size of my bicep to day, we could do it crudely with a tate measure. We could do it more accurately with an mri or an ultra sound. What does that mean? Did i grow more muscle fibres? Did each fibre get bigger? How would you explain to somebody what happened in that cycle of hypertrophy? In general, we don't think that hyperplasia is playing a big roll, at least in adults. And i wouldn't necessarily rule it out, but it doesn't seem that we have a lot of evidence for that.
