The Importance of Culture in Game Design

Neutta is the latest in our Into the Deps series. This week Bennett Foddy talks about East Coast versus West Coast American like schools of game design, and I just want to ask if there are any cultural influences or concepts that you feel have sort of become part of your aesthetic. We actually had a question about the worm from Stefan G effects on discord said I don't know if it's too but the worm has a mascot for hold down is a nice touch. Where did that come from was that just a nice detail that got added or is there some story behind it?
