The Importance of Emotional Activation in Learning
When your heart rate's at 100 versus 60, the type of learning that is going to happen is going to be more substantive. As a learner, you want to be engaged and emotionally activated in a positive valence without being overwhelmed. Our long-term memory has infinite capacity. The key here is to optimize that coding moment while minimizing distractions and extraneous information. If learning seems easy or as passive, it's probably not effective.
