The idea is photographic pattern recognition. A couple from San Francisco went to 30 different families in 25 countries and they lived with them for a week. While they were eating, they collected a duplicate portion of all the meals that they ate during the week. And at the end of the week, they put that duplicate portion either on a kitchen counter or a blanket or something in front of them. They had the family stand behind the food. In an instant, you kind of get a sense of what they're eating without doing a 24 hour recall or a food frequency questionnaire.
