Is Overeating Meeting Culture the Enemy of Learning?
Excessive meeting culture is the enemy of learning. Microsoft recently ran a study internally where they were experimenting with employees using headspace between meetings and sessions for ten minutes to give them chance to reset focus and engage. If we can't process what's happening in meetings about brain function our stress level is worse so I think it's more a case of focusing on getting things done rather than spending too much time in meetings. We're not going to be able to retain or apply information as effectively if we don't take breaks during meetings. It's really about asking yourself what needs to be synchronous and what needs to beynchronously shared by people who want to learn. There are a whole bunch
