Remington was sold to a group of private equity investors for $225 million. Victor Remington made about $100 million on the sale, as did his partner Ike Promoter. When Marvel went into bankruptcy, in bankruptcy any contract can be voided if it helps save the company. The idea that he was no longer associated with Remington was very hard for him.
