The Power of Facts and Reality

I assumed that by sharing facts, I would enlighten the individual and change their mind. But it turns out that doesn't work. Here's why. We might think that getting new information on new facts will lead us to change our minds or update our beliefs, but it often, often, doesn't. Most see this when people use facts to try and change other people's minds. There was a really illuminating set of studies which illustrates having this tension between what we think facts do, or the power of facts and reality.
