Is There a Paradox Behind Having More Choices?
We also have more choices now, right? Is there a paradox there, that having more choices in almost every domain of life is actually not contributing our happiness in the way that you might suppose it would? There's this famous study on the picking jams, if you offer people too many jams they just get frozen and don't know what to do. My understanding is it hasn't fully replicated. I think the problem is not so much that we have so much choice, it's that we make such crappy choices.
