There was a theory where if you took a couple of days to deplete your carb stores that then when you carb loaded, you could like load up even more. That's kind of an old school method. And it makes things just extra complicated for people and more likely for there to be some error. So I would rather people just focus on the carb loading days and not trying to deplete beforehand. How far out should you pad breakfast ideally before your race? Well, if you're doing a really large breakfast all at once, I'd give it two, three hours at least.
