The Risk Factors of Injury in Swimming

There are other anecdotal things to consider, but ultimately it's going to come back to an exceeding of the tissue tolerance due to a workload change. Other considerations would be things like anterior hip or pelvic tightness. If you are quite high toned in that area, then you're more likely to be slumped forwards in the water and not able to get overhead as well. So stretching that out is very helpful. The other would be just being judicious with fin use. Quite often fins aren't friendly for those conditions.
