One of the things that you want to try to do in poker is to separate the chips from the money. You want to view the chips as tools to accomplish a particular goal in a hand, and not view it as money at all. If you get too emotionally lit up in the moment then you might become too risk seeking. In othrwords, you might be trying a sort of go for a double lit up strategy which is usually not a very good choice.
I have wanted to do this interview for a long time. On this episode, I am thrilled to have Annie Duke, former professional poker player and author of the new book, Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts.
Annie has a very interesting background that makes her uniquely qualified to speak about high-level decision making.
