We confuse confidence with certainty. We think that in order to be seen as confident communicators, to be competent, to be believable, we must express things with certainty. And there's all sorts of bad things that come from that. When you express the uncertainty, i think that you do become a much more believable communicator. So these ways that you're rapping in, i'm not sure into the way that you're speaking what i mean by i think we, i think we conflate confidence and certainty.
I have wanted to do this interview for a long time. On this episode, I am thrilled to have Annie Duke, former professional poker player and author of the new book, Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts.
