Being high functioning means you're really good at hiding your suffering, which is interesting because it's acknowledging that we all are suffering. But it's easier to and I think it's sometimes even hidden from our own awareness in some ways. So for the highly functioning person, it can, you know, these barometers that we use to measure our mental health are sometimes calibrated against an external standard when the greatest calibration is always internal.
