Is Walking a Good Training Method for Beginners?
Walking is really great for somebody who is brand new to running and with a beginner level fitness. But what we must remember is that walking is not the same as slow running even if you get the same heart rate response. Biomechanically it's quite different actually. So just like even a word class cyclist cannot just expect to be a great runner despite having an amazing engine we must do specific training for the actual movement patterns of running. The only way to do that is to actually run.
