The Complexity of Sitcom Story Structures
TV writers now do things differently, even sitcoms have more of a like a soap opera narrative structure. The idea with sitcom old classics sitcoms is that the main character by the end of the episode, they should always be exactly where they started. They were the reset. So that you can have reruns and you can watch sitcoms out of order. And it all works. But there are two story structure types. There is the serial story. And so that's pretty much what I talk about with the narrative arc. That's on a timeline. And then this episode happens in the next episode and it gets better and better as the season goes on.
