Tiratable Insulin Drip vs. Fixed Dosing Protocols
Titratable insulin drip may have a role but currently in our institution we still start with the flat rates of insulin. The current institution uses fixed like the guidelines recommend kind of that point one units per kilo per hour. So I can see either way being a good protocol for our patients depending on the insulin level and how sensitive your patient is. Based on your experience what's your preference? Oh, I really like I deal with a lot of trauma patients and they're usually like younger type one diabetes. The flat rate works really well and I feel like the older patients don't use the two back method.
