Throughout the luteal phase is when your progesterone rises so in the beginning it might be okay emotionally but the closer you get to the period the worse it gets. You're also retaining a lot more water during this time and that's where all these extreme cravings come from. If you're not properly giving yourself nutrients your body is going to face unhealthy fluctuations and it's going to make all of your symptoms worse.
