Fitness athletes should bias their training towards bilateral strengthening, but also not neglect unilateral training for the benefit it has in helping us clear up some of those strength asymmetries. In a well-run crossfit class or a well-designed powerlifting or Olympic weightlifting program that you're always going to have some accessory work,. Some core work, some unilateral work to round out the day. And then my fourth point, what does this actually look like in practice of taking this research, understanding it, applying it? What does that look like in the scope of a physical therapy session?
