Do You Need High Intensity Work for Postmenopausal Women?

The more research comes out on menopause and the more we see the effect of resistance training, it should be a prescription that every physician puts out for their peri-impostmenopausal women. My PhD student who defended last week, her specific topic was looking at high intensity interval training for early postmenopausal women versus late postmenopausal woman. Early postmenopausalWomen had these fantastic cardiovascular adaptations. So all these women were afraid of the cardiovascular changes, but it was as if they were premenopausal again. That is the kind of stuff that's now being investigated and now needs to be translated out that we need this high intensity work.
