The Power of Mindfulness
I'm very committed to both the science and the practice of understanding mindfulness as a whole package. I'll give you an interesting example. In my class we never talked about it. We just taught them how do you pay attention with kindness and curiosity to what your behaviors are and what the consequences are. And after eight weeks is that the mindfulness course had significantly better ethical decision making than the other course. Which was surprising because you would think you would have to be specific. But for me that lends a bit of support to saying this practice is powerful and it will lead to wisdom and I think wisdom leads to compassion.
