The Importance of Balance in Life
Sally Kohn: I tried to ignore the emotional side for a really long time. She says it's easy as humans to look at food and see an immediate reaction when we eat certain foods that don't make us feel good or drink caffeine. We get the association that exercise, I see more muscles, I feel better, she says. But emotions are longer-term processes which can be hard to deal with if they're not dealt with early on in life. The first step is being willing and open about how you want to handle your own personal traumas according to what works best for you.
