The Effects of Emotion on Decision Making

Ventromedial prefrontal cortex is the region where emotion and reason intersect. It appears to be a collection of systems in the human brain consistently dedicated to goal-orientated thinking process we call reasoning. This same collection of systems is also involved in emotion and feeling, and is partly dedicated to processing body signals. De Masio argues that those feelings provide what he calls somatic markers for the mind which aid decision making. They point us in the right to wrong sometimes direction.
