The executive function model is a very scientifically rigorous one, but also a very helpful one to understand what's going on. We're really understanding ADHD now as a problem of self-regulation. The person knows it, but there's not that compelling drive to have to necessarily start today. That's how procrastination can creep up on somebody. There's time management issues. In terms of managing time, we're organizing behavior across time,. We're also managing our effort and energy to do these things.
