The Effect of Overnight Fasting on Protein Synthesis

The more trained you are, the less catabolic to training is itself. Loosing is only really effective as protein synthesis goes down. If protein synthesis isn't depressed, if the system isn't down-regulated, there's nothing to recover from. Athletes like to have four doses per day or something as opposed to three meals. But I don't know that there's any particular benefit of having it within 30 minutes of your exercise or having it four hours after your exercise.
