I think it's so important to touch on this point of sexual liberation and you know with the rise of feminism. There is this space where we are stepping into a more empowered space but underneath that empowerment, I still don't think we're having the truthful discussions around what do I actually want here? You might just want a cuddle or you might want to hook up but not have penetrative sex. And I feel like sometimes sexual freedom gets confused with like sexual promiscuity, which is like super fair. Like I would say that I'm a fairly promiscuous person at this point in my life because that's my preference.
This week we dive into the psychology behind hookup culture and casual dating in our 20’s. We are joined by the host of The Openhouse Podcast, Louise Rumball, as we discuss the cultural and societal changes that have contributed to this sexual liberation, what happens to our brain during and after a hookup, empowering ourselves through pleasure but also healthy boundaries and the science and personal stories behind why casual dating may not be for everyone.
