How Do I Get a Sample of Silage?
"You need to be concerned about what's going into the pit and how you access a representative sample of that," he says. "There is some danger standing under the face of a pit, particularly on some of these big feedlot silage piles [that are] 20 feet higher or whatever" The third way would address getting a handle on what you're putting into that silage pile,. Would be to sample green chop of the forage that's being packed.
