There are two basic primitive lines of life. There's the co-karyotes, bacteria, and there's also a line called archaea,. Archaea are similar to bacteria, but they basically run a different program. But it turns out there's one molecular structure that they both share. In bacteria, this is called cardiolipin, right? In archaea, they have a similar structure that's slightly different; in both organisms, it's required for energy production. It's only found in humans in mitochondria because they're basically bacteria.
