How to Manage Opioid Withdrawal in the Inpatient Ward
Anxiety typically starts within the first 24 hours of abstinence and can last three to five, maybe even up to a week. What we're not seeing is vital sign abnormalities like we'd see with alcohol or benzoyl withdrawal. So that's a really good thing. But the anxiety is so severe, it oftentimes drives people out of the hospital and so we certainly need to concentrate on that.
