Do You Have an Initial Response to Inviolating Norms?
i was coaching someone on this this morning. She's just come into a company and is kind of interested in keeping her job. And i was advising her to really violate a norm, to do something in a way the company just never did it before. But that does show that the norms of the organization are not the only possible norms. I'm not suggesting this is easy at all, but the benefits are huge if you can find a way to do it that feels safe for you.
