Treatment considerations in hyper thyridis include anti thyroid medications, radioactive iodine and surgery. Atrogenic hyper thyrodism can occur in patients that are taking amioterone or excessive amounts of iodine. Radioactive iodine is also contra indicated in women that are pregnant or lactating. Patients on treatment should have their t s h monitored every six to eight weeks for hypo thyrodism.
