The Modern Definition of Adulteration

A lot of alcohol products meant for human consumption were adulterated with methanol back in the early 1900s. The head of the FDA got fired over even wanting to investigate saccharin, a sweetener that was made from coal tar. It's not going to acutely kill you unless you just drink way, way too much of it and give yourself alcohol poison. But some adulterants are actually very dangerous.
