The Importance of Reciprocity
Bob Greene: The idea about reciprocity is that people give back to you what you first give to them. What we should do when we go into a room is not look around and say, hmm, who can help me here? He says it just flows back automatically; there's no twisting of arms at that point. Greene: We've evolved as a tendency to be sure that we stay in good relationship with the people around us by being sure that we give back if they've given to us.
